Our trips provide an opportunity to experience the Kingdom of God while generously loving, listening, serving, and encouraging communities around the globe. Our trips will challenge your normal rhythms of life, while encouraging you to embrace a slower pace in order to refocus your life, placing Christ at the center. This will create new opportunities to reorient your role in the mission of God – both at home and away.

By the end of a Poetice trip, you will feel like you have a new family and a new home. Our hope is that when you return to where you live, you will be inspired to fight for justice in your own communities.

CHOMA, ZAMBIA

All trips are based in Choma, Zambia. Zambia is landlocked in Southern Africa between eight bordering countries. Choma is the Provincial Capital of the Southern Province. It is nearly a three-hour drive north of Livingstone, a tourism hot-spot of Zambia and home to lots of African wildlife (elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more!) as well as Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Choma is a busy market town, known for farming. Though the city has a population of nearly 300,000, Choma has a small-town feel. The people are friendly, relational, and proud of their country. The majority of the population speaks English as well as Tonga, one of 73 tribal languages in the nation. Choma contains the largest area of commercial farmland and produces the most maize in the nation. The town of Choma has a supermarket, local market, gas stations, a general hospital, police station, and several large high schools.

ALREADY SIGNED UP TO GO?

The key to doing well during any trip experience is to start with yourself. If you wish to see humility, honesty, empowerment, & mutual respect become hallmarks of the Church worldwide, you must begin by embodying these values in your own lives. Then & only then can you, with integrity, ask the same of others. You can use these training resources to help guide you & your team to experience a transformation that will endure beyond the short duration of a trip experience.
