We host a variety of short-term trips throughout the year for individuals from the USA to engage in our ongoing ministry work in Zambia. These trips are focused on carrying out our vision for the city of Choma.

Our trips provide an opportunity to experience the Kingdom of God while generously loving, listening, serving, & encouraging communities around the globe. Our trips will challenge your normal rhythms of life, while encouraging you to embrace a slower pace in order to refocus your life, placing Christ at the center. This will create new opportunities to reorient your role in the mission of God – both at home & away.

By the end of a Poetice trip, you will feel like you have a new family & a new home. Our hope is that when you return to where you live, you will be inspired to fight for justice in your own communities.

CHOMA, ZAMBIA

All trips are based on our 13.5-acre global training base in Choma, Zambia. Our base in Choma is sandwiched between two key compounds (Kabanana & Mwapona). Though impoverished, we believe the Lord has chosen these unlikely communities to be the catalysts to ignite city-wide transformation.

Choma is a busy market town, known for farming. Choma contains the largest area of commercial farmland & produces the most maize in the nation. Though the city has a population of more than 60,000 people, Choma has a small-town feel. The people are friendly, relational, & proud of their country. The majority of the population speaks English, as well as, Tonga (one of 73 tribal languages in the nation).

ALREADY SIGNED UP TO GO?

The key to doing well during any trip experience is to start with yourself. If you wish to see humility, honesty, empowerment, & mutual respect become hallmarks of the Church worldwide, you must begin by embodying these values in your own lives. Then & only then can you, with integrity, ask the same of others. You can use these training resources to help guide you & your team to experience a transformation that will endure beyond the short duration of a trip experience.
