Over the past 6 years, God has guided me on a unique journey to get me to this point.
In 2010, I took my first trip to South Africa. Upon leaving, I knew I wasn’t finished with this place. I found myself taking a couple other short-term trips to Africa, which ultimately by the Lord’s leading, brought me to apply to Poetice’s 2016 international immersion internship in Zambia. Not knowing exactly what He had in store, the Lord used this time to open my heart and the door to serve full-time in Zambia.
At home in Michigan, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow by working in the office for my families excavating business. During my time in the internship, the world of missions and administration crossed paths — a collision you don’t typically see on short-term trips. This opportunity came up fast! My plan is to head to Zambia in February 2017. As of now the “how long” is undetermined, but I’m committing to at least one year and we will see where the Lord leads after that. I’m excited to combine my heart for serving people with the administrative gifts God has blessed me with.
