The Poetice Rec Park exists to create vibrant spaces where play ignites joy, sports foster connection, and every individual finds a sense of belonging. As a vibrant Expression of our ministry, it serves as a dynamic space for community engagement, physical wellness, and spiritual formation. Through structured programs, open play opportunities, and sports leagues, we promote personal growth and holistic development for people of all ages. Our inclusive environments cultivate moments that make people feel fully alive, seen, and valued as part of the Poetice family.

Our Rec Park is an outdoor play space unlike anything else in Choma. Our ever-growing park offers a wide range of athletic and physical fitness opportunities through our various sports and activity fields. Our facilities currently have a soccer field, softball field, volleyball court, half-mile running/walking trail, and a basketball/netball/pickleball court.

PLAY

At the heart of this project lies a passion for play — the kind of play that sparks joy, stirs imagination, and brings people to life. We believe that play is more than just recreation; it’s a vital expression of freedom, creativity, and hope. Our goal is to create spaces where people of all ages can engage in play that is fun, active, and joyfully uninhibited. Whether it’s children laughing on a field, youth testing their limits in sports, or adults rediscovering the power of play, we seek to cultivate moments that make people feel fully alive.

CONNECT

Sports have a unique way of breaking down barriers and bringing people together as little else can. In every game, every team, and every shared victory or defeat, there is an opportunity to foster unity and connection. Sports transcend language, age, and background, allowing people to meet on common ground. Through friendly competition and shared goals, we create spaces where strangers become teammates, teammates become friends, and friends become family. Our vision is to use sports as a tool for connection — building bridges across differences and forming bonds that go beyond the field.

BELONG

Beyond fun and friendship, our greatest desire is for every individual to experience a profound sense of belonging. We believe that every person is designed for community — to be seen, known, and loved. Through play, sports, and shared experiences, we create an environment where people feel safe, valued, and included. Our aim is not just to invite people to participate but to welcome them into something bigger — the Poetice family.
