I am living the dream! The first stirrings for desiring justice came in the spring of 2012 when I did a research project on the effects poverty had on a child’s education. Then that summer, I took my first trip to Zambia to teach at a music academy, where I saw the needs of impoverished children in the flesh. I had the privilege of taking multiple short-term trips as well as doing Poetice’s Immersion Internship in 2015. Each time I have left Zambia, I have more understanding of how my skills and experiences align with people’s needs.
Before joining Poetice, I taught music and art at a school primarily with low-income students as well as received my master’s degree in Reading and Literacy Instruction. All of this was so I could be better equipped to serve the Church. I moved to Zambia in July of 2017 and have been completely in awe and excited that I get to minister to Zambian youth and help them know the living God.
I can only continue being in Zambia with your support!
