MAKE A ONE-TIME INVESTMENT   or   MAKE A MONTHLY INVESTMENT

Education transforms lives and breaks the cycle of poverty that traps so many children.

Countless world leaders have hailed education as the single most crucial factor in determining the course of a nation’s future, and we couldn’t agree more. In many developing countries, most children don’t advance beyond middle school, and a mere fraction continue on to attain degrees in higher education. While children in the developed world struggle to decide between a career in medicine or law, children in the developing world struggle to achieve literacy. Some communities need big improvements in education, such as new schools. In other cases, a tuition scholarship or a new school uniform might prevent a child from dropping out. And sometimes the simplest provisions–pencils and notebooks, or a pair of shoes–makes the difference in a child’s future, which can make a difference in the future of a nation.

Around the world,
58 MILLION CHILDREN
of primary school age are out of school.

63 MILLION ADOLESCENTS
of lower secondary school age are out of school.

Half of these children are located in sub-Saharan Africa.

It’s estimated that 45% of ALL out-of-school children will NEVER set foot in a classroom. infomark

WE BELIEVE WE CAN CHANGE THAT.

distress_whiteline

We believe that when a child enters a classroom,
they are free to imagine and equipped to chase their dreams.
Education is the key to changing the world.

Some children don’t attend school because they can’t afford the tuition or fees. Others don’t attend because they can’t afford a uniform or books. Many of the girls don’t attend because their parents use their limited resources toward the education of their sons instead of their daughters. To unlock the wider benefits of education, all children need the chance to complete not only primary school but also lower secondary school.

ESSENTIALS
How can a child show up to school without a clean uniform, a sturdy bag, or shoes that fit? And how can a child read without a book, write without a pencil or study without paper? Many families scrape together barely enough to pay school fees, leaving nothing extra for school supplies. Even if a child is able to pay tuition, a child may still be turned away if they can’t afford the required uniform. We believe that a prepared child is a confident child, which is why we strive to outfit underprivileged students with school supplies, big and small, to help them thrive. Because sometimes all they need is a boost.

SCHOLARSHIPS
For some children, a small boost is all they need to thrive in a classroom. A new notebook, a fresh pack of pencils, or a clean uniform might be all that is required to take a child from academic uncertainty to confidence. But for others, a boost isn’t enough. They need total support from the ground up, and that’s why we offer comprehensive, start-to-finish academic support to the most disadvantaged children.

SCHOOLS
A school building can be a safe haven, a place of identity and hope, a second home. However, damaged, cramped, and unfurnished schools don’t foster optimal learning, and an absent school can’t foster learning at all. When that building is clean and spacious, filled with desks and stocked with books, staffed by smiling faces and willing hearts, it becomes a playground for possibilities. Every child can become great when he or she has space to grow. We believe the best dreams are cooked up in the classroom. The sky’s the limit within the walls of a schoolhouse.

“Education is life.
If you are educated, you can work
and do what you want. Me, I want to
be a nurse. I want to build a big house
where I can live with my grandmother and
my young sisters. I want to help people, to
look after them and give them medical
treatment when they are sick. I want to
be a healer.”
