God never does quite what I expect him to do, and his ways are always so much better. I began pursuing full-time ministry in 2015 by enrolling at Wesley Seminary through Indiana Wesleyan University. It was later this same year that I came to Zambia for the first time with Poetice. My church already had strong ties with Poetice, but my trip deepened my personal ties with Poetice. I have loved supporting the Poetice family from the states for the last three years and more and I never thought my involvement would go beyond this long-distance relationship.
I lived in Sioux Falls for nine years including college and have had the privilege of doing so much meaningful work. I was a health and wellness coach for five years and was on staff at The Ransom Church in Sioux Falls for two years in their residency program. I was applying for jobs at local churches in the United States when God interrupted those plans of mine with the opportunity to work in Zambia with Poetice. In the many ways, this opportunity didn’t really make sense, it made so much sense in how God knit it all together and I could do nothing but trust him and say yes. I am so excited to be a part of all that God is doing here.
