My name is Collet Kadolo from Choma, Zambia, and I am 25 years old. We are 11 in my family, and I am the second born.

I came to know about this Internship through William, who is the friend of Abby and John, who are the team leaders.

The first week Abby and John taught about the story of God, Christ was without sin but for our sake, God made Him to take away our sins. It was done in order to have union with Him, as well as, for us to share the righteousness of God and the love that He has for us (through His creation). “We know what it means to fear the Lord, and we try to persuade others. God knows us completely, and I hope that in your hearts you know Him well.” 2 Corinthians 5:11-21.

The second week, Daniel and Sarah Favretti taught us about identity. Identity is “who God says I am.” Seeing and feeling about yourself the way God sees and feels about you is how to have a healthy identity. From this place, you can live out your purpose, and right identity empowers right living. He made us from a relationship of love for relationships of love. We are created to be loved by God, and we are created for intimacy, and we are created to be defined by God. God loves us to love others. I learned that I am chosen, I am loved and lovable, I am unique, and I am special.

We learned from Dave Swensen about freedom for the third week. We have been given freedom to give others freedom. We have been given freedom to share with other people and to go deep with the Gospel. We worship and surrender to the creator God. Examples of freedom: freedom to act, freedom of speech, freedom to think, freedom of leaving home and going to college, freedom of responsibility, freedom of choice, and freedom of movement. Freedom of a journey of discovering who you are is “performance.” God is love, God is grace, God is mercy, and God is forgiving.

This last week, Bruce and Pastor Fred taught us about the dream God has for Africa. Love your neighbors and love yourself. If you can’t love your neighbor whom you can see, then you can’t love a God whom you can’t see. God created all races to reflect his true image. Noah was the first person to make a covenant with God. What God has closed no one can open. The sons of Noah were named Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Shem – Middle East; Ham – Black, South; Japheth – White, West. He has given us life for free, and he has given us gifts for free. Life is full of opportunity, and each of us has time to hear God. Believe your God, and go from the comfort zone to the faith zone.
