ISABEL NGENDA: Second Update!

July 24th, 2017 Posted by Immersion Internship - 2017

Bo!! (hello in Chiyao!)
Outreach in Malawi has been amazing. I got to meet blessings’ (a fellow intern) parents Mr. & Mrs. Mpeta.

The Mpeta’s run a ministry called All Nations, and mostly they discover the bible with people they minister to. It’s called discovery bible study (dbs). Mangochi is mostly dominated with muslims and people who believe in sangoma (witch doctor). It was hard for some people to allow us to their homes or us to share the word of God with them because of what their religion tell them. Though our mission was to preach the word not to change their religion.

I have never been in a place where people know nothing about Jesus Christ. Seeing some of them eager to know more about the lord impacted me. It took few days for some of them to give their lives to Christ, something I took me years. Constantly seeing what the Lord was doing in my fellow interns kept me encouraged to know Him more.

After a week of ministry, we had time for fun, swimming in lake Malawi, enjoying the beautiful sites along the shores of the lake, the richness of the culture and the good food that they have “rocked my world”. Given a chance, I would love to go back to Malawi and glean more from the people there.
