MAY 21 – AUGUST 13, 2018
ZAMBIA INTERNSHIP • 2018
Welcome to our Immersion Internship in Zambia! Our Immersion Internship Program will awaken you to passionately love and follow Jesus, and will empower you to confront injustice and become an effective agent of change in communities around the globe.
To become an intern, visit the FAQ links on the right sidebar to learn how to apply. Once you apply, a staff member will contact you with more information on next steps.
APPLICATION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 1, 2017.
For three months you will live at our missions base in Choma, Zambia. You will live with your team of interns, comprised of individuals from the USA, Zambia, Southern Africa and all over the world. This community creates a unique opportunity to learn about African culture firsthand as you build lifelong relationships with your peers. Your team will seek God’s heart together as you discover, minister, live and grow together.
A majority of the internship program is crafted to help you discover God, yourself and His purpose for His church. Various teachers from all over the world will train you on an array of transformational topics including:
•Identity in Christ
•Purpose & Missional Living
•The African Church
You will be given opportunity to apply what you are learning as you join our on-going efforts to seek holistic restoration in the community. You will minister to individuals and families by participating in our outreach initiatives throughout the summer. You will visit families in their homes, facilitate youth camps, leadership conferences and serve in our weekly children’s, youth and adult ministries. You will take an outreach outside of Zambia to experience village ministry and get another picture of how the Church is serving her people.
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
IMPACT LOCATION // CHOMA, ZAMBIA
Zambia is landlocked in Southern Africa between seven bordering countries. Choma is the Provincial Capital of the Southern Province. It is nearly a three hour drive north of Livingstone, a tourism hot-spot of Zambia and home to lots of African wildlife (elephants, giraffes, zebras and more!) as well as Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
Choma is a busy market town, known for farming. Though the city has a population of nearly 300,000, Choma has a small town feel. The people are friendly, relational and proud of their country. The majority of the population speaks English as well as Tonga, one of 73 tribal languages in the nation. Choma contains the largest area of commercial farmland and produces the most maize in the nation. The town of Choma has a supermarket, local market, gas stations, a general hospital, police station and several large high schools.
I learned about the power of living like Jesus.
Just living your life in the way that He did can impact a community,
you don’t even have to say anything.

During the internship in Zambia,
I learned the importance of being who He wants me
to be rather than doing things for Him.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
God really shows His love
despite what you were before.
I learned about the power of a story.
During the internship,
I started to see the great value in cross-cultural ministry
because allows you to see how God reveals Himself in other cultures.
The summer in Zambia was powerful! I was reminded of both God’s overwhelming love and His faithfulness in any circumstance. Life has been challenging lately, but there hasn’t been a day when my heart isn’t encouraged by memories of roommates, hosts and other friends from my internship.
